There was a mystery tour through my guild. It was a great day with lots of laughter and shopping at some great quilt shops. We went to The Quilt Place in Shakespeare, Heart'n'Home in New Hamburg, E & E's Cloth & Creations in Newton, Cotton Harvest Shop in Seaforth, Ye Olde Quilt Shop in Stratford. A delicious lunch was enjoyed by all at Anna Mae's in Millbank.
two metres of Moda's Basic Grey from the Quilt Place and 4 metres of Northcott solid from Heart'n'Home |
three one metre batik cuts from the Cotton Harvest. The blue is for my daughter |
The Northcott blue was purchased for a quilt for one of my grandson's. He wants blue and animals, he is getting both. I have been making blocks using patterns from Lorna of Sew Fresh Quilts. Some are purchased patterns and some are free on her blog.

Then there's a memory quilt, a cousin and I are making.

I'm also doing a QAL, a Splash of Colour you can read more about it here.
That sums up a little of what has kept me busy in October. After putting it in this post it's no wonder it flew by so fast.
October came and left so quickly, I find myself questioning was it really ever here? I think you had a pretty productive October. Those are some beautiful fabric scores. It looks like the quilt for your grandson is chugging right along. And the sneak peak of the Splash of Color quilt, is STUNNING! I cannot wait to see it finished.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about October being over in a blink of the eye. You did a lot and I hope you have a good November, too!
ReplyDeleteI agree...October disappeared. Can't believe it's November.
ReplyDeleteI know on October, and I knew mine was going to be busy ahead of time. Some of that busy didn't happen (trip to New York state) because of other busy (Naala). Amazing what those pens can do! Wish I was just an hour away instead of 2, so I could come see your demo... I just love your SoC project!
ReplyDeleteOctober flew by here too. You've made good use of your time though. The quilt for your grandson is going to be darling. How creative to add an actual fishing lure to the embroidery. I hope we will see the completed quilt. Your batik leaves are lovely. I'm not sure I could make the fabric look like a leaf as you did. I'm sure I could convey the idea of a leaf, but not quite so realistic as you did. And I'm drooling over your splash of color project. Can I find the pattern somewhere?
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've been very productive and also having a lot of fun!!! I've thought of going on one of those shop tours, sounds like a lot of fun!!! Which the intense pencils sounds interesting....I hope you will link up a blog post if you write one!!!
ReplyDeleteTime always flies by when you are going to quilt shops and creating a lot which you certainly are. The quilt along is intriguing. I really like compass blocks and yours is awesome,
ReplyDeleteLove all the animals. He is one lucky grandson!!!
