Thanks to Marian at Seams to Be Sew who is the organizer behind this blog hop. This is my second year designing a row, this year's theme is a garden party.
Northcott Fabrics generously sponsors the row along, providing each of us designers with up to 1 yard of fabric.
Northcott Fabrics |
Once we knew that the theme was going to be a Garden row. I knew I would be making some kind of flower for my row, deciding what that flower would look like was the hard part. You see I love flowers, roses are my favourite. However, like most gardeners, I have a love for all flowers.
small piecing |
There is a little bit of small piecing in the blooms, these are 1 3/4'' by 1 3/4''. But I know you can do it.
My row is 18'' by 9''
You can download my row here from dropbox. It will be free until the end of October.

ReplyDeleteOpps forgot to say my favorite color is purple although I do love blues too!!!
ReplyDeleteTerrific block! Thank you so much, even with small pieces. =)
ReplyDeleteI’m not a happy camper with the new changes either. BUT.....I love your row! Love the colors and your fabric choices. Of course yellow and green in a quilt are my favorite colors.

ReplyDeleteLove love love these flowers!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great pattern
ReplyDeleteSo much details in your beautiful row of flowers that's its hard to imagine so many seams in that (9" x 18") area. Thanks for your pattern as well as your generosity. Stay well.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this wonderful and happy row. This will be fun to make.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty flower! Thank you! I really like purple and blue together. And purple and pink. And purple and green. Or all 4 of those together!
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever design! I love most colors, so it's hard to pick a favorite one. I think the only color I maybe use most is actually white.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great question! I love to combine red with blue, or plum with orangey-gold. Deep gray with purple. So many combinations. This must be why my quilts all look very different--I'm no "Bonnie and Camille", with a distinct look you can pick out at a mile, which I sometimes almost regret, but I think really reflects who I am.
ReplyDeleteFun to see a post from you in my inbox, and I love your row of flowers!
ReplyDeleteWonderful row of flowers! ManyThanks for sharing your creativity with all us quilters.
ReplyDeleteYour Garden Blooms are very lovely. Thanks for a chance to win the Clover goodies. I LOVE their notions!

ReplyDeleteI am really enjoying this blog hop! My favorite colors to combine change every once in a while. Currently, they are cream and either blue or purple. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute flowers! I don't have a particular combination of colors I prefer; it depends on the pattern. What I love for one quilt, I wouldn't even consider for another!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great flower block; so bright and cheerful! I love your colours. Normally I seem to use purple in all my quilts, but the Covid shut down has me hooked on teal; teal with brown, teal with purple and blue, teal with black and white, teal with any colours! 😄
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the row you created Cindy! Such a cool flower block. I love the Black-eyed Susan peeking over the top of the row. I just planted one this year in a new bed, a volunteer in our neighbours' lawn (I got their permission). You know I love blue and green. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love your block. My favorite of the day. However, I am having trouble getting it. When I click on the link, I get the following:
ReplyDelete"Error (500)
Something went wrong. Don't worry, your files are still safe and the Dropboxers have been notified. Check out our Help Center and forums for help, or head back to home."
Can you help me out here?
Such a wonderful block, the effect is stunning, it never would have occurred to me that those small edges in different colours make such a difference to what could have been a normal flower block. I love it - thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely. All the patterns are going to make a great quilt.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute flower row! Thank you for sharing.
