Justin's Path

Finally finished I have been busy doing the quilting on this quilt for my youngest son's Christmas gift this past week. His favorite colour is red. There are 5 different reds in the goosey blocks. I didn't have a pattern but saw the block when surfing on Pinterest. The Rolling Star Pattern are paper pieced from Wombat Quilts. I used three, one each to represent his family, my DIL and their two daughters.
I Free motion quilted it on my domestic machine. I should have taken a few close ups of the FMQing. The larger negative spaces I used wavy lines to help make it soft and flighty like. I stippled around the stars after stitching in the ditch around them first to make them have a little pop. Overall I like how it turned out.
Since I have been doing more free motion work I can see the difference in my stitches I'm not saying I'm anywhere near expert but I am most certainly improving.
I took this outside today trying to get some good light to take it in. Red and blacks are hard to get good pictures of.  You will notice no snow, which is fine by me..LOL

GI Clue #2

I had a few issues all mine getting these little beauties square. I was sewing the squares and rectangles as per method # 3, but they just weren't right when I measured. I was sewing them from the corner that was causing way too many problems. I then starting sewing from the side and it worked. Now I have 4 1/2 by 4 1/2 squares. Yay!

Snowmen Wall hanging

The background of the wall hanging is Simply Woven Quilts by Anna Faustino. The snowmen are my own applique design. At least I didn't have to worry about any snow today when taking a photo of it. Just because I'm Canadian doesn't mean I have to like the white stuff.

Bonnie Hunter's New Mystery

I'm doing Bonnie Hunter's newest mystery 'Grand Illusion'. I think at this point I'm only going to do 1/4 of the blocks, I'll decide later how many more I need. At least this way I can join in on the fun right from the start. This is my first Bonnie Hunter mystery I'm making.

These are my Clue 1 blocks
