Pictures from Quilt Canada

Quilt Canada was held in Toronto this year at the International Centre. I went on Thursday. Wow! The inspiration, I have a mental list of things I'd like to do and try. The only snag is time, or lack thereof. I know I'm not the only one with this little problem.
How about some inspiration?

The green ( L's Modern by Lecien) and purple ( Bear Essentials by P & B Textiles) go so well with the floral print (Walk in the Park by Maywood Studio) they just had to come home with me.

A little Bit of Shopping!

Nothing like retail therapy to bring a smile to someones face. Especially mine! lol My LQS, Cherished Pieces was the recipent of said therapy. Petting fabric and ohhing and ahhing over it can be almost as good as ice cream on a hot day. We have been experiencing enough of those over the last few days. At 8:00 AM it was 22 Celsius with humidity it feels like 28 Celsuis, summer has arrived!

The newest members of my stash are as follows. The light grey piece is Quilters Linen by Robert Kaufman. The green piece is songbird by Sue Beevers for Northcott. I love green anything green. The orange is Quilters Basic Perfect by Stof. The darker grey is Garden from the fushions collection by Robert Kaufman. The black is also from the fushions collection by Robert Kaufman. The gold is also from that same line by Robert Kaufman. 

I also took the plunge and bought this.

I have a couple different graphic programs such as Photoshop and Corel Paint Shop Pro. I can get around these programs relatively easy but EQ7 and I are not buddies at all. At least not yet. I see some visits to Mr. Google and you tube in my future. I would not describe this software as overly user friendly, but maybe that's because I haven't a clue what I'm doing.

Sunday Stash

One of my LQS's had a mystery bus tour. A  friend asked me if I wanted to go, I finally decided that yes I would like to go, I got the second last seat on the bus. I am glad I did go, it was a fun day, I met some great quilters. You can imagine a busload of quilters and all the fun and maybe a few shenanigans going on.
We went to four different quilt shops in southwestern, Ontario. From Tillsonburg to Stratford, then on to Elmira and Guelph finishing up in Tillsonburg. Elmira has a Mennonite community and the buggy is their mode of transportation and we saw quite a few of them out and about, some were open buggies as the temperature here was 13 degrees Celsius or 55 Fahrenheit and sunny. Not bad for a Canadian February day.

Of course there might have been a few things that came home with me...well maybe more than a few. But who's counting?  Not me that's for sure.

This one was in the clearance area of the first shop, at $4.50 a meter how could I resist. It is a Stonehenge by Northcott. I have plans for a table runner for it.

I don't usually buy panels but this caught my eye and I had to have it. It is fallscapes by Red Rooster. There are four different scenes in the panel

The above coordinating pieces are also by Red Rooster. I also got two meters of black Kona cotton for $6 a meter. Love sales!

The end piece is more green than the picture is showing and is Bellissima by Hoffman. The second one is tinted with a light green grunge, no info in the selvedge. The stripe is another Red Rooster fabric. The green floral is by Henry Glass. The pink floral is a half meter by Me & My Sister Designs. The last pink also has no selvedge info.

My batiks seemed to need a boost so I added six fat quarters to the stash. 

Now all I need to do is use some of these new additions up and quite adding to the stash.

Sunday Stash 2

I like fat quarters, they don't take up much room. And I really need more fat quarters.....NOT. It started with one and before I knew it this bunch was coming home with me. The worst part is I have no real plan in place for them other than stashing them. Is it just me or do other people have this problem?

I'm not a blue person and I even added a blue. I do believe I'm doomed, I have no resistance whatsoever when it comes to fat quarters.

Sunday Stash

I did a little retail therapy this week. It was good for me and a couple local quilt shops. A black and white quilt is in the making, more about that to come in a later post. A couple pink pieces made their way home, with four granddaughters one can never have too much pink.  It feels good to be doing a little bit of sewing even if it is slow sewing.

The pinks are on left a Kaufman and the other one I don't remember and the selvedge doesn't show the name.

It is also Thanksgiving weekend here. Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians!
Fall is definitely here as can be seen in these photos I took early this morning.
